Eliptica – organic chess set with 32 pieces

Eliptica translates the chess roles into flowing, open lines. Slender, intertwined arches form the tapered bodies and oval cutouts; pointed leaf and flame shapes lead down to the stepped circular base. The King and Queen are distinguished by tall, openwork crowns, the Bishop by a rising flame head. The Knight features a dynamic horse head with a flowing mane, the Rook an open castellated crown, and the Pawn a smooth sphere. In this way, each role remains legible, while the set forms a calm, organic unity.

COLORS AND FINISHES

Printed color pairs: Gold / Silver, Gold / Black, Gold / White, Gold / Bronze, Silver / Black, Silver / White, Silver / Bronze, Black / White, Black / Bronze, and White / Bronze.

The printed versions are monochromatic per side and are not subsequently painted. Recesses have the same material color as the rest of the piece; no dark patina is applied.

Hand-painted color pairs: Silver / Gold and Silver / Bronze. The black primer remains visible in the recesses; the raised forms are emphasized with metallic-effect acrylic paint. Paint application, shading, and gloss may vary.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze denote the color or finish, not the material. The first color belongs to one side, the second to the opposing side. Screen displays and material batches can influence the color impression.

The pieces are 3D-printed from PLA. Painted variants additionally receive primer and acrylic paint. Fine layer lines and small surface characteristics are inherent to this manufacturing process. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts that may be swallowed.

The ivory effect, waterfalls, arcades, and chessboard in the design reference are purely illustrative. The pieces are not made of ivory. They are 3D-printed from PLA; arches, cutouts, and circular bases are integral parts of the models.
