Fragmenta – sculptural chess set with 32 pieces

Fragmenta combines chess with modern figurative sculpture: each piece grows from a fluid, fragmented S-curve while simultaneously carrying a distinct personality. King and Queen appear as crowned portraits, the Bishop as an abstracted, mask-like silhouette. The Knight evolves into an angular horse's head with a curved neck, the Rook into a broken column with battlements. The Pawn is particularly individual, appearing as a compact, combative figure with raised fists. Round stepped bases provide a sense of calm to the dynamic torsos and unify the set into an expressive gallery of modern forms.

SIZES

The chosen size applies to the complete set. The height of individual pieces varies according to their role.

COLORS AND FINISHES

Printed color pairs: Gold / Silver, Gold / Black, Gold / White, Gold / Bronze, Silver / Black, Silver / White, Silver / Bronze, Black / White, Black / Bronze, and White / Bronze.

The printed versions are monochromatic per side and not subsequently painted. Depressions have the same material color as the rest of the figure; no dark patina is applied.

Hand-painted color pairs: Silver / Gold and Silver / Bronze. In these versions, the black primer remains visible in the depressions; the raised forms are highlighted with metallic-effect acrylic paint. Application, shading, and luster may vary.

Gold, silver, and bronze refer to the color or finish, not the material. The first color belongs to one side, the second to the opposing side. Screen displays and material batches can influence the color impression.

SCOPE OF DELIVERY

A complete set of 32 chess pieces in the selected size and color finish. Chessboard, pedestals, and decorations are not included.

REGARDING THE IMAGES

The product images are digital visualizations based on the model files, not photos of pre-manufactured items. They show the intended shapes and color finishes. The print surface and individual painting may differ from the appearance shown. The cover image shows twelve examples of the pieces; the complete set of 32 figures is supplied. The white overview shows the six piece shapes individually.

The pieces are 3D-printed from PLA. Painted variants receive additional primer and acrylic paint. Fine layer lines and small surface characteristics are inherent to this manufacturing process. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts that may be swallowed.

"Fragmenta" describes the fragmented, sculptural design language. The pieces are 3D-printed from PLA; portrait heads, crowns, mask shapes, horse profiles, battlements, and the pawn's raised fists are integral parts of the model.
