Parametric Lattice – modern chess set with 32 pieces

Parametric Lattice translates algorithmic design into a striking chess set featuring open struts, rhythmic apertures, and clearly tiered bases. The king wears an angular crown with a cross, while the queen features a star-shaped, folded crown. The bishop exhibits a teardrop-shaped opening, and the knight a minimalist horse profile with a cutout neck. For the rook, a crenellated crown merges with an open lattice structure; the pawn completes the series with a spherical head and a slender, strut-based body. The recurring triangles and voids give all six piece types an appearance that is lightweight, technical, and cohesive.

SIZES

• Medium: piece height approx. 5–7 cm

The size selection applies to the entire set. The height of individual pieces varies according to their role.

COLORS AND FINISHES

Printed color pairs: Gold/Silver, Gold/Black, Gold/White, Gold/Bronze, Silver/Black, Silver/White, Silver/Bronze, Black/White, Black/Bronze, and White/Bronze.

The printed versions are monochromatic per side and not subsequently painted. Recesses have the same material color as the rest of the piece; no dark patina is applied.

Hand-painted color pairs: Silver/Gold and Silver/Bronze. The black primer remains visible in the recesses, while the raised forms are highlighted with metallic-effect acrylic paint. Application, shading, and luster may vary.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze refer to the color or finish, not the material. The first color belongs to one side, the second to the opposing side. Screen display and material batches may influence the perception of color.

SCOPE OF DELIVERY

A complete set of 32 chess pieces in the chosen size and color finish. Chessboard, pedestals, and decorations are not included.

The product images are digital visualizations based on the model files, not photos of finished pieces. They display the intended shapes and color finishes. The print surface and individual painting may deviate from the appearance shown. The cover image shows twelve examples of pieces; the full set of 32 pieces is delivered. The pieces are 3D-printed from PLA. Painted versions are additionally finished with primer and acrylic paint. Fine layer lines and small surface characteristics are inherent to this manufacturing process. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts that could be swallowed.

"Parametric" and "algorithmic design" describe the geometric formal language with open struts and apertures. The pieces are 3D-printed from PLA; the visible lattices, crowns, openings, and bases are integral parts of the model.
