Droid – Mechanical chess set with 32 pieces

Droid combines classic chess symbolism with a detailed mechanical royal court. The King wears a tall crown over a powerful, wired android torso, the Queen a more delicate crown and curved chest armor. The Bishop can be identified by its pointed miter, the Knight appears as an armored robotic horse, the Rook as a humanoid machine bust with an open crenellated crown, and the Pawn as a compact droid with a distinctive spherical head. Gears, cables, plates, and ball joints form a unified design language.

SIZES

The size selection applies to the complete set. The height of the individual pieces varies according to their role.

COLORS AND FINISHES

Printed color pairs: Gold / Silver, Gold / Black, Gold / White, Gold / Bronze, Silver / Black, Silver / White, Silver / Bronze, Black / White, Black / Bronze, and White / Bronze.

The printed versions are monochromatic per side and are not subsequently painted. Recesses have the same material color as the rest of the piece; no dark patina is applied.

Hand-painted color pairs: Silver / Gold and Silver / Bronze. The black primer remains visible in the recesses; the raised forms are highlighted with metallic-effect acrylic paint. Application, shading, and gloss may vary.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze refer to the color or finish, not the material. The first color belongs to one side, the second to the opposing side. Screen displays and material batches can influence the color appearance.

INCLUDED IN DELIVERY

A complete set of 32 chess pieces in the selected size and color finish. Chessboard, pedestals, and decorations are not included.

REGARDING THE IMAGES

The product images are digital visualizations based on the model files, not photos of pre-manufactured specimens. They show the intended shapes and color finishes. The print surface and individual painting may differ from the appearance shown. The cover image shows 12 role examples on two presentation levels; the complete 32-piece set is supplied. The white overview shows the six piece designs individually.

The pieces are 3D-printed from PLA. Painted variants also receive primer and acrylic paint. Fine layer lines and small surface features are characteristic of this manufacturing process. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts that could be swallowed.

Crowns, miters, armor plates, cables, ball joints, and the spherical head are integral parts of the respective model shape; there are no moving or illuminated parts.
