Maya – Historical Chess Set with 32 Pieces

Maya combines monumental ruler figures, temple architecture, and clear geometric ornaments into a striking chess set. The King sits with a broad feathered headdress and ceremonial staff, the Queen wears a high geometric crown, and the Bishop appears as a standing dignitary with curved helmet ornamentation. A stylized horse forms the Knight, the Rook shows a strict temple face beneath a crenellated crown, and the Pawn is designed as a compact figure with large round eyes and fan-shaped headwear.

SIZES

The size selection applies to the complete set. The height of the individual figures varies according to their role.

COLORS AND FINISHES

Printed color pairs: Gold / Silver, Gold / Black, Gold / White, Gold / Bronze, Silver / Black, Silver / White, Silver / Bronze, Black / White, Black / Bronze, and White / Bronze.

The printed versions are monochromatic per side and not subsequently painted. Recesses have the same material color as the rest of the figure; no dark patina is applied.

Hand-painted color pairs: Silver / Gold and Silver / Bronze. Here, the black primer remains visible in the recesses; the raised forms are emphasized with metallic-looking acrylic paint. Paint application, shading, and gloss may vary.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze refer to the color or finish, not the material. The first color belongs to one side, the second to the opposing side. Screen display and material batches can influence the color impression.

SCOPE OF DELIVERY

A complete set with 32 chess pieces in the chosen size and color finish. Chessboard, pedestals, and decoration are not included.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATIONS

The product images are digital visualizations based on the model files, not photos of pre-manufactured pieces. They show the intended forms and color finishes. Print surface and individual painting may differ from the appearance shown. The cover image shows 12 role examples on two presentation levels; the complete 32-piece set is delivered. The white overview shows the six figure shapes individually.

The figures are 3D printed from PLA. Painted variants additionally receive primer and acrylic paint. Fine layer lines and small surface characteristics are part of this manufacturing process. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts that may be swallowed.

Feathered headdresses, staffs, battlements, and geometric ornaments are integral parts of the respective model form; there are no moving parts.
