Voronoi – Chess set with 32 pieces

Voronoi translates classic chess roles into open, organic lattice forms. Softly branching struts enclose oval and teardrop-shaped apertures; round bases give the slender pieces a stable foundation. The king features a perforated, rounded head, while the queen has a small spherical top. Open bishop heads, abstracted knight profiles, and ring-shaped rooks continue this design language, while the pawns provide a clear contrast with their solid spherical heads.

SIZES

• Medium: Piece height approx. 5–7 cm
• Large: Piece height approx. 6–9 cm

The size selection applies to the entire set. The height of the individual pieces varies according to their role.

COLORS AND FINISHES

Printed color pairs: Gold / Silver, Gold / Black, Gold / White, Gold / Bronze, Silver / Black, Silver / White, Silver / Bronze, Black / White, Black / Bronze, and White / Bronze.

The printed versions are monochromatic per side and are not subsequently painted. Recesses have the same material color as the rest of the piece; no dark patina is applied.

Hand-painted color pairs: Silver / Gold and Silver / Bronze. In these, the black primer remains visible in the recesses; the raised forms are accentuated with metallic acrylic paint. Paint application, shading, and gloss may vary.

Gold, silver, and bronze refer to the color or finish, not the material. The first color belongs to one side, the second to the opposing side. Screen display and material batches may influence the color perception.

SCOPE OF DELIVERY

A complete set of 32 chess pieces in the selected size and color finish. Chessboard, pedestal, and decorations are not included.

ABOUT THE IMAGES

The product images are digital visualizations based on the model files, not photographs of pre-manufactured items. They show the intended shapes and color finishes. The print surface and individual painting may deviate from the appearance shown. The cover image shows twelve example roles: one each of king, queen, bishop, knight, rook, and pawn in silver and gold. The white overview shows the six piece shapes individually. The complete set of 32 pieces will be delivered.

The pieces are 3D-printed from PLA. Painted variants receive an additional primer and acrylic paint. Fine layer lines and small surface characteristics are inherent to this manufacturing process. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts that could be swallowed.

The open lattice structures and their connections are made of PLA, along with the round bases. Please handle the delicate struts with care when setting up and storing.
