Modern abstract chess – 32 hand-painted pieces

Faceted surfaces, asymmetrical twists, and tapering polygonal bases give this chess set a modern, futuristic tension. The towering king ends in an open, jagged crown, the queen features a mask-like, owl-esque head with pointed eye openings, while the knight appears as a clear horse's head with a ribbed mane. The bishop, rook, and pawn also translate their classic roles into this same intentionally angular design language. Two geometrically identical armies make up a total of 32 pieces and are separated by contrasting colors. The hand-painted surfaces highlight edges, indentations, and twisted planes – a playable ensemble with a striking low-poly silhouette.

NOTE ON COLOR, SIZE, AND 3D PRINTING

The size ranges describe the approximate height from the smallest role to the king. The base bodies are produced from PLA using a 3D printing process and subsequently hand-painted by FehnFactory. Black, white, gold, silver, and copper refer to the applied color surface; the pieces are not made of these metals and are not made of resin. Fine layer lines, small surface differences, and slight variations in brushwork, shade, or finish make each hand-painted set unique. Colors and details may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings.
